Linda Reddick

4TH SOUTHERN AREA DIRECTOR - 1961-1965

Linda Reddick served as the 4th Southern Area Director from 1961-1965 and continued programs to enhance education and develop youth of African descent.  She described the Area as filled with talented women eager to serve, but lacking in funds, adequate records and structure.  During her administration, a $1 per capita tax was initiated as an area tax.  She also instituted an Outstanding Chapter Award, Outstanding Project Award and Outstanding Link of the Southern Area Award to be awarded at each Area Meeting.

QUOTE: “I came into the office ready for a challenge…a challenge I found!  On the positive side I found a veritable ‘hot-bed-of-talent’—(the) most intellectually, talented women, just waiting to be ‘tapped’ for service.”
